Box Score Washington, DC – The men's soccer team traveled to Washington DC today to take on Gallaudet in NEAC action and gain 1st conference victory of the year, 1-0.
The Lions looked to move forward from their tough loss last night at Wilson. Coach Dan Perez was hoping for a good first half of play and the Lions responded. In the 6th minute of play, the Lions opened the scoring with a goal Farid Amari, his 4th of the season. The half ended with the Lions leading 1-0.
The second half saw the Lions sustain possession throughout the majority of the half. Then with the Lions down two men after the 78th minute, Gallaudet started to put a ton of pressure on the undermanned Lions. The Lions and goalkeeper Ryan Weinkopf held off the Gallaudet attack and were able to hold to the 1-0 win, earning their first conference victory on the season.
The Lions are now 1-2 in the NEAC and 5-4 overall.
The Lions are back at home on Tuesday, as they take on Lancaster Bible in NEAC action.
