Box Score Bryn Athyn, PA – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team fell to Eastern University 8-1 in their home opener in nonconference action.
Damilare Adeleye scored the lone goal for the Lions in the first two minutes of the game, off a pass from David Camara in the six-yard box to take the lead. Bryn Athyn battled to keep the lead, till a foul in the offensive penalty box, gave the Eagles a penalty kick to tie the game at the 10:25 mark. Both teams exchanged possession in the midfield, and head into halftime tied at 1-1. Eastern outshot Bryn Athyn 7-2 in the first half.
Eastern would generate 20 additional shots in the second half but was held off the scoresheet until the 64th-minute mark. Jadon Ramsing scored a penalty kick to take a 2-1 lead, off a Bryn Athyn foul in the penalty box. The Eagles took control of the game scoring six goals in the second half and held the Lions scoreless.
Geri Alimadi made eight saves in net for the Lions in his first start of the season.
Bryn Athyn host PSU Berks next Tuesday to kick start their NEAC conference play.
