Box Score BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team gave up three straight goals to begin the second half and couldn't recover as the Lions were upended on Senior Day in their final home match of the season 4-2 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent SUNY Polytechnic Institute Sunday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.
Prior to the match, the Lions honored seniors AJ Clark and David Camara.
Benjamin Alonge broke a 1-all tie at the 61:09 mark on a 1-vs.-1 with Bryn Athyn keeper Quentin Hager. Hager made a sliding save, one of four saves he had during the match, with his legs on Alonge's first shot, but Alonge gathered the rebound and dribbled by the downed keeper for the tip-in goal.
The Wildcats (8-7-0, 6-2-0 NEAC) extended their lead to two at 77:49 when Evan Chaires scored after receiving a pass from Andrew Kessler who delivered the ball from the left side of the penalty area.
Zack Joseph made it a 4-1 affair at 86:33 as he scored into the lower right corner from 25 yards away. Alonge picked up an assist, playing a back pass to Joseph to set up the goal.
Camara capped his Senior Day, pulling a goal back for the Lions with 1:18 left. Edgar Rodriguez played the ball over to Camara at the right post with his knee. The pass left Camara all alone and gave him an easy shot for his sixth goal of the season.
The Wildcats' Nathan Laughlin stopped two shots to earn the victory.
In the opening half, both teams got on the scoreboard in the opening five minutes. Chaires gave SUNY Poly the quick 1-0 lead just 2:28 into the match. Chaires intercepted a Lion goal kick and got off a quick shot that beat an out-of-position Hager.
