Field hockey wraps up inaugural season with 6-0 loss to Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College field hockey team concluded its inaugural season with a 6-0 non-conference loss to Arcadia University Monday night on Jean Lenox West Field.

The Lions wrapped up their first season with an overall record of 2-12.

Bryn Athyn goalie Macey Mitchell made 14 saves in the loss. Defender Ryleigh White pitched in with two defensive saves.

Arcadia (10-8) scored on a pair of penalty corners in the opening 8:58 to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Liz Stierle put the Knights' first goal on the board at 4:27 as she slammed home an entry pass from Kayla Brennan. Brennan made it 2-0 after tipping-in a slap pass from Gabby Sedares. Stierle started the corner sequence with an entry pass to Sedares.

Then, Lauren Dougherty recorded Arcadia's next three goals to widen the gap to five with just under 20 minutes last in the match.

Isabelle Houser closed out the scoring as she picked up a loose ball in front of the Lion net and chipped it over Mitchell into the goal.
