Field hockey tripped up at Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College field hockey was defeated by host Bryn Mawr College in a non-conference match, 7-0, Wednesday night on Applebee Field.

Mary Cugini gave the Owls (4-1) a quick 2-0 lead with a pair of unassisted goals in the opening 15:23. Just under 10 minutes later, Lydia Fisher scored from the right side of the arc to make the score 3-0.

Fisher netted her second goal of the match just 2:20 into the second half after receiving a pass on the left wing from Sara Rilatt. Rilatt picked up another assist on Cugini's third goal of the match which came at the 41:06 mark. After Samantha Shaw scored the Owls' sixth goal at 63:04, Fisher completed her hat trick with 2:44 left in the match as Rilatt notched her third assist of the night.

Bryn Athyn's Macey Mitchell (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Technical) recorded a career-high 14 saves, 11 during the opening half, in the setback.

The Lions (0-4) return to General Ronald K. Nelson Field to face Notre Dame (Md.) on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m.
