Box Score BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – In its first North Eastern Athletic Conference match in program history, the Bryn Athyn College field hockey team was defeated by Keuka College 8-2 Saturday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.
After falling behind 2-0 in the opening 25 minutes, Sabrina Colbridge cut the Lions' deficit in half with her first career goal at the 28:52 mark. Bri Lennox slapped the ball on goal from outside the arc and had it go off of the pad of Wolves goalkeeper Kassidy Valentine. Colbridge collected the ball after the ricochet and deposited the ball into the vacant net.
Shelby Lamb's second of the afternoon, coming just 2:35 before halftime, allowed Keuka (2-5, 1-0 NEAC) to go into the half leading by two, 3-1.
The Wolves ran off five consecutive goals, scored by five different players, to widen the gap to six with just under 15 minutes left in the match. During the game-changing surge, Lamb completed her hat trick with an unassisted goal while Hannah Moon scored giving her a goal in each half.
Brittany Gunther scored the Lions' second goal as she slammed home the rebound left after a Payton Boler shot. The goal is Gunther's second of 2017.
Macey Mitchell played the first 45:37 in goal for Bryn Athyn and stopped 14 shots, tying her career high. Anja Weisser recorded three saves over the final 24:23.
Kassidy Valentine had a three-save performance to earn the victory.
Bryn Athyn (1-6, 0-1 NEAC) heads to Swarthmore for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.
