Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to Gallaudet University in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener for both teams Saturday afternoon on Hotchkiss Field.
Trailing 1-0 on a Sean Huber goal during the early stages of the second half, Lion striker David Camara was knocked down by two Bison defenders in the penalty area at the 66:06 mark, resulting in a penalty kick. Edgar Rodriguez put the penalty kick into the upper left corner of the goal, over an outstretched Noah Means-Simonsen, for the equalizer.
The deadlock lasted all of 25 seconds as Huber headed a Sean O'Callaghan corner kick off the right post and into the Lion goal to put Gallaudet (1-5, 1-0 NEAC) up 2-1. Huber completed the scoring, and his hat trick, on a breakaway that ended with him lifting the ball over a diving Quentin Hager for the insurance goal with 7:25 left in the match.
Hager finished the match with five saves for the Lions, while the Bison's Means-Simonsen had six stops. The Lions owned a 20-12 shot advantage.
Bryn Athyn (2-3, 0-1 NEAC) travels to Penn State-Abington for a NEAC match on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.
