SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College field hockey team suffered a 9-0 loss to host Swarthmore College in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon on Clothier Field.

Swarthmore (6-3) had six different goal scorers, including Clare Perez, Sierra Spencer, and Kathleen Carmichael who all scored twice. Lizzy Stant, Sophie Peipher, and Riya Garg found the back of the goal once. Jane Blicher assisted on three of the nine Garnet goals.

The Garnet led 5-0 at the half after outshooting the Lions 24-0. Swarthmore tacked on the final four goals during the final 35 minutes.

Bryn Athyn goalie Macey Mitchell stopped a career-high 15 shots.

Zelda Black earned the win despite not seeing a shot. Ellory Laning made two saves in the second half.

Bryn Athyn (1-7) returns to North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Sunday, Oct. 1 with a trip to Wells for a 2 p.m. start.
