Box Score HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss to Penn State Harrisburg in the 2018 season opener Friday afternoon.
The host Nittany Lions (1-0-0) opened the scoring just 51 seconds into the contest when Toma Nichik, the first of six different scorers, found the back of the net.
Bryn Athyn (0-1-0) started to find its offense at the 6:45 mark of the half as Pete Comas put a header on the Harrisburg net that was stopped by Nittany Lion keeper Carlos Acosta. The Lions would keep the pressure on the Nittany Lions by getting seven corner kicks during the opening 45 minutes, three in the final five minutes. However, Bryn Athyn was unable to come away with an equalizer.
Penn State Harrisburg dominated the second half, outshooting Bryn Athyn 13-0 and scoring five times—including a Joey Aman penalty kick with 35 minutes remaining in the match.
Jacob Elder made seven saves in his debut in the Bryn Athyn net.
Bryn Athyn will attempt to quickly rebound when the Lions head back on the road to take on Lancaster Bible on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 3:15 pm.
