Lions fall to Penn State Abington 5-0

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team was defeated in its 2018 home opener Wednesday night by Penn State Abington, 5-0, on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

The Nittany Lions (1-2-0) led 3-0 at the half thanks to three goals scored in a 10-minute span. Jaden Truskey opened the scoring at 12:51 as he flicked a header from 10 yards away across the goalmouth and inside the right post. Sebastian Perkowski doubled the lead just over six minutes later with a breakaway goal along the right wing. David Penea added to the advantage at 22:07.

Jose Palomeque converted a penalty kick 61:06 for the Nittany Lions' fourth goal. Perkowski scored for the second time at 68:20.

In his first game in goal for Bryn Athyn, Shane McCurdy recorded four saves.

Bryn Athyn goes back on the road for a non-conference contest at Old Westbury on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2:30 p.m.
