Bryn Athyn comes in eighth in season-opening Ursinus Invitational

SANATOGA, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College golf team opened up its 2019-20 season by coming in eighth place in the Ursinus Invitational at the par-71 Raven's Claw Golf Club Tuesday.

The Lions had a team score of 412 (+128). Cabrini won the event with a score of 321 (+37), just one shot ahead of runner-up Albright (322, +38). Host Ursinus was third at 326 (+42).

Tanner Schroeder was Bryn Athyn's best golfer in the team's first event by shooting a round of 93 (+22) to come in 28th.

Brett Dillon was 33rd overall after turning in a card of 102 (+31). Matthew Echelmeier ended the day in 36th with a score of 108 (+37), while Connor Devereux was a shot back of Echelmeier with a 109 (+38) to finish in a deadlock for 37th.

Julion Lever completed the lineup by shooting a 116 (+45) to take 42nd.

Cairn's Ryan Borrmann finished first in the 45-golfer event with the winning score of 68 (-3), the only under-par round.

Bryn Athyn's next event is the Jefferson University Tri-Match on Monday, Sept. 30 at The ACE Club.
