Men's Soccer clashes with Keystone in Conference Tournament

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The No. 4 seeded men's soccer team played its heart out against No. 5 Keystone in the United East Skye Division Tournament, losing 3-2.

Inside the Box Score
  • Mike Carmody left everything on the field, galvanizing the Lions with his competitive spirit and scoring the team's first goal.
  • Tim Ragan went out with a bang, scoring a late goal to keep Bryn Athyn in the match.
  • Ruben Hernandez and Nathan Scavo assisted on each respective goal.
  • Troy Billingslea accumulated 4 saves and corralled countless close calls.
How it Happened
  • Keystone wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the 4th minute.
  • Bryn Athyn was quick to counter, as Carmody laid in a nice pass from Hernandez to tie the game once again.
  • The visiting Giants would score one more time before the half was over.
  • Out of the break they were also quick to capitalize, notching their third goal just over a minute into the half.
  • Keystone then became deliberate about wasting time through elongated free kicks, goal kicks and throw ins, which eventually led to some stoppages and yellow cards.
  • One of those free kicks was the Scavo-Carmody connection, which put the Lions just one goal behind with seven minutes to go.
  • Giants would hold on to win 3-2.
Notes
  • Lions were outshot 17-10.
  • Keystone advances to the semifinals of the Divisional Tournament, where they will visit either Rosemont or Cairn.
