Women's basketball win second in a row

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The women's basketball team hosted visiting Medger Evers College on Saturday and got a convincing win 56-41. 

Inside the Box Score 
  • Malia Bullock provided a spark off the bench with 11 points to go along with 3 rebounds
  • Zhymani Smith contributed a solid 11 points of her own and dished out 7 assists on the afternoon. 
  • Alayna Day chipped in 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assist, and 1 block. 
  • Yonique Reynolds made her presence felt by adding 8 points and 7 rebounds of her own. 
  • Alexa Osafo-Mensah added 7 rebounds of her own with 4 of them being offensive. 
How it Happened
  • Both teams appeared evenly matched early on as the game was tied at 6 within the first 5 minutes. 
  • Bryn was quick to adapt, going on a a 13-7 run to end the first quarter. 
  • In the second quarter; the Lions continued to force turnovers and held Medger Evers to just 9 points in the quarter.
  • Medger Evers had trouble scoring in the third quarter as they were held to 5 total points. 
  • In the fourth quarter; Medger Evers showed some fight as they were able to get the 19 point lead down to 13. 
  • Bryn Athyn would not take their foot off the gas as they went on to get the win, 56-41. . 
Notes
  • Bryn Athyn scored 18 points off turnovers, 26 points in the paint and 14 points in transition.
  • The Lions also 23 bench points to Medger Evers's 10. 
  • Lions are now 2-0 overall.
