Coaches Corner
  • "Every conference road win is like gold, and this one was hard earned. We knew going in that LBC is a tough place to play, they have all conference guards and a veteran group that plays hard, so we had to really battle for 40. The 1st quarter was a little slow, but our offense really picked up in the 2nd, and our shot selection and execution the rest of the way was much better. Defensively, it was a total team effort and we executed from the jump. Individuals handled their assignments and we had each others' backs, exactly what we preach. Zhymani Smith had an extremely efficient 2nd half, and when it's all said and done she finishes with 26. She and Alayna Day combined to go perfect at the foul line too, which was also big for us. Xion Spence came away with 13 boards, and Sierra Georges gave us a huge boost off the bench. It's great to be heading back home with a win, for sure."                   - Head Coach Travis Ponton
