Coaches Corner
  • "That was an absolute battle, and to go on the road in a packed house and just be locked in like that, it says a lot about the grit and determination of our team. Hats off to Penn College, they are a well-coached team mixed with veterans and their freshman post has had a tremendous season. They have been virtually unstoppable at home this season, so we knew it was going to be a war. Our defensive effort and execution was lights out, and even though shots weren't falling those first three quarters, we never buckled. Alayna Day was absolutely clutch, Zhymani Smith overcame a cold shooting night to just make winning plays on both ends, Yonique Reynolds cleaned up on the defensive glass, and then Alexa and Xi just cleaned up with the details and did the dirty work. I'm proud of our entire team, and they earned the right to advance with another historic moment for our program." - Head Coach Travis Ponton
