Bryn Athyn College

Heather Weindorfer- Izzi joined the Bryn Athyn Women’s Basketball coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in October, 2021. A local basketball legend, Weindorfer-Izzi has found success both on the floor as a player and on the sidelines as a coach right here in the Philadelphia region.

Weindorfer-Izzi has coached college and high school basketball for the last 20 years at Gwynedd Mercy University, Lansdale Catholic, Central Bucks West and her alma mater Lower Moreland. She also coached her Fencor AAU teams for 10 years and won 7 Mid-Atlantic championships.

Weindorfer-Izzi is still the All-Time leading scorer at the University of Hartford (1780 points) and Lower Moreland High School (2340 points). She still ranks 40th on the top scorers list in the state of Pennsylvania’s high school basketball history. She has also been inducted into the New England Hall of Fame, Hartford University Hall of Fame, and Lower Moreland High School Hall of Fame.

This is a basketball person, through and through, who has experienced so much success as both a player and a coach. Her name is synonymous with women’s basketball in our region, and she is someone our young women can look to as a local product who has used her love for the game of basketball to do so much and impact so many. She’s a huge addition to our staff, and we are amped to have her at Bryn Athyn.”
