Bryn Athyn Tops PSU Abington in Five Set Thriller

Jenkintown, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team defeated PSU Abington 3-2 in Tuesday night action. 

After dropping the first two sets 21-25, the Lions rallied back to win the third and fourth sets 25-23 and 25-22, forcing the match into a fifth set tie-breaker. With the momentum on their side, Bryn Athyn fought hard and walked away victorious, winning the fifth set 16-14.

Kaitlyn Brock led the team with a career high 25 kills, 15 digs, and four service aces. Beth Tough registered six kills, while Cathleen Curran notched twelve digs and three service aces. Kara Cowley recorded 13 digs, while Holly Adams added five kills and nine digs. Cree Gurney dished out 32 assists. 

Brock stated, "I'm really proud of the team for not letting down tonight. PSU Abington is a great team, but we stepped our game up and made a lot of good connections with each other. I think this game is proof that we aren't ready for the season to be over yet!"

Coach Petersmeyer expressed, "We've been waiting the entire season to pull it all together and win a close five set match. I am really proud of how far our team has come in one season. Go Lions!"

The Lions return home Tuesday, October 23rd to host Lancaster Bible. The match is set for 7:00pm.
