Women's Volleyball Splits Matches at the Notre Dame of Maryland University Tri-Match

Baltimore, MD- The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team fell in three sets to Notre Dame of Maryland University, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-14, in game one of the tri-match.

Kara Cowley led the team with six digs and three kills. Cathleen Curran added five service aces, five digs, and two kills. Cree Gurney dished out 11 assists, while Natalie Daum notched five digs.

In game two of the tri-match, the Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team defeated Trinity Washington in four sets. After losing the first set 17-25, the Lions came back to win the next three sets 25-22, 25-23, and 25-17. 

Holly Adams led the team with 11 kills and nine digs. Kara Cowley notched 11 kills, three digs, and three service acres, while Cree Gurney dished out 31 assists, two blocks, and five digs. Kinu Butler put up six kills and Cathleen Curran recorded eight service aces. 

Adams expressed, "We played together as a team, and fought hard each and every point. "

Coach Adina Petersmeyer added, "I'm very proud of the team, and excited to get the first win of the season under our belts. We're looking forward to our home opener against Cedar Crest." 

The Lions return to the court Tuesday, September 4th against Delaware Tech. The match is slated to begin at 7:00pm.
