Box Score Abington, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team fell to Penn Sate Abington 3-0 in conference action Tuesday night.
The scores were, 25-21, 25-23, 25-14.
Kaitlyn Brock led the Lions with 10 kills and five digs. Jenii Bauer put up 14 digs and a service ace. Catherine Kirk notched 16 assists.
After dropping the first three points in the beginning set, the Lions come back quick with a kill and a block to bring it within one, 3-2. Abington kept a point lead till they went on a five point break at 10-5. The Lions took a time out, down 13-6, a Brock kill, Penn State Abington service error, and Bryn Athyn's rally win, the Lions bring the game within two 13-15. Both teams exchange points, but the Lions capitalize on Nittany Lions errors to bring the game within one, 21-22. The Lions lose three points to drop the first game 25-21.
After trialing the first two points in the second set, Bryn Athyn went on a 5-0 run to take a 7-2 lead. Winning two quick points, Nittany Lions took a time out at 7-4. Abington ties the game at 9-9. Bryn Athyn kept their lead till 22-21, Nittany Lions took the lead with back to back service aces. Abington wins the set 25-23.
Tying the game at 8-8 in the third set, the Nittany Lions turned up their offense and built their lead to nine, 14-23. Penn State Abington would win the third set 25-14.
Bryn Athyn heads on the road to Penn State Harrisburg for a non conference game at 1:00 pm this Saturday.
