Bryn Athyn, PA. – The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team took down the Highlander's of Cairn University, 3-0 in non-conference action. The team was led by newcomers Alexa Kennedy and Abi Anderson and returners Jenii Bauer and Taylor Davis.

The first set went point for point until the 15-mark threshold, where the Lions broke away for the solid set win. The Lions went down in the second set 3-0 but was able to regroup and hold the Highlanders to 11 points in the set. Bauer led the team in the third set with a dominating six point serving run. The Lions only allowed nine points against him in the first. The scores were, 25-18, 25-11, 25-9.

Taylor Davis led the Lions with season-high ten kills, no errors on the entire match, and three blocks. Kennedy had six kills, one service ace and one assist. Bauer had five kills and three service aces.  Sam Hicks notched five aces and one dig.  Abi Anderson had 21 assists and two kills.   

Despite fresh blood on the court, the Lions came out with a very solid inaugural win. Coach Kozar had this to say about the nights win, "Coach Young and I are very excited about tonight win. The girls have worked very hard this preseason to get to this point in their game. Every one of the girls contributed to tonight's success. We still have a lot to work on and develop, but I am excited for the way we game out tonight and ready to start preparing for the weekends matches."
