How It Happened:

Bryn Athyn College faced Valley Forge University for the second time this season. Earlier in the season opener, the Lions dropped a 3-2 decision to the Patriots. This time around, the Lions sought revenge and cruised to a 3-0 match victory over the Patriots. In the first set, both teams battled to a 4-4 tied, then the Lions went on an 8-1 run that included five kills, a service ace, and two Patriots error for a 12-5 lead. Even after a timeout by the Patriots, the Lions never looked back to a 25-15 first set victory. In the second set, the Lions took advantage of several Patriots errors that helped cruise to a 25-17 victory. In the third set, the Lions continued their stellar performance. The Patriots' closest encounter was when they trailed by one (4-5), and from there, the Lions separated themselves in a 20-11 run that finished the third set in a 25-15 fashion.

   * Catherine Kirk dished out game high 19 assists.
