Fast Start Lifts Men's Lacrosse Over Moravian, 12-4

Bryn Athyn Pa - The Bryn Athyn men's lacrosse team earned their first victory of the season and gave first year coach Tucker Durkin his first collegiate win with a 12-4 win over Moravian on Saturday afternoon.  

The Lions took control of the play right from the start. Luke Frazier opened up the scoring for the Lions with an unassisted goal at the 9:04 mark. Nolan Frame put the Lions up by two, with an unassisted goal of his own five minutes later. Ryan Landels gave the Lions a 3-0 lead to close out the quarter with a goal assisted by Jesse Frazier.  

The Lions extended their lead in the second quarter to 5-0 on two goals by Luke Frazier assisted by Andrew Coyle and Ryan Landels. The Lions goalie Robert Moran was the key player in the second quarter, keeping Moravian off the scoreboard making 5 big saves to keep the shut out intact to close out the half. 

The Lions were up 8-0 in the third when Moravian was finally able to get one by Lions goalie Robert Moran at the 7:25 mark, on a goal by James Carroll. The Lions closed out the third with a 9-2 lead. Goals by Ryan Landels, Jesse Frazier and Steve Petaccio secured the 12-4 victory over Moravian, who came into the game with a 5-1 record overall. 

The Lions were led Luke Frazier with 4 goals and Ryan Landels with 3 goals. The Lions goalie Robert Moran was the difference in the game today making 15 saves on 19 shots. 

The win gets the Lions to 1-1 on the season. The win was also first year Coach Tucker Durkin's first collegiate win. The Lions are back in action on Wednesday March 23rd as they host Alvernia at 4:30 pm.
