Box Score Bryn Athyn Pa- The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team hosted Alvernia on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions defeated the Crusaders, 17-8 to pick up their second win of the season.
The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter behind two goals from Nolan Frame. Bryn Athyn jumped all over Alvernia in the second quarter scoring five unanswered goals led by two goals by Jesse Frazier. Alvernia was finally able to slip one by Lions' goalkeeper Robert Moran with 4:05 left in the half. The Lions goalkeeper Moran kept Alvernia off the board making nine saves in the half.
The Lions started the third quarter increasing their lead to 11, 12-1, with four consecutive goals by Andrew Coyle, Ryan Landels, Connor Buick and Luke Frazier. Jesse Frazier, Landels and Luke Frazier each added goals giving the Lions a significant lead 15-4 to close out the third quarter.
Bryn Athyn came out in the fourth, looking to secure possession and keep Alvernia off the scoreboard. Alvernia outscored the Lions 4-2 in the fourth, and the Lions were able to hold on to their lead, for a 17-8 victory.
The Lions were led by Jesse Frazier with four goals. Luke Frazier, Nolan Frame and Connor Buick each added three goals. Robert Moran was stellar in net for the Lions, making 15 saves on 18 shots.
Bryn Athyn move to 2-1 under first year head coach Tucker Durkin. The Lions are back in action on Saturday March 26th when they host Alfred State at 3:00 pm.
