Box Score Cazenovia NY- The men's lacrosse team traveled to Cazenovia to take on the Wildcats in their final regular season game of the year. The Lions battled back to take the game into overtime, but fell 11-10 to Cazenovia.
The Lions found themselves in a very big hole in the first half, as they were down 8-1 through two quarters.
The Lions then started their comeback in the third, when Steve Petaccio scored in the first minute of the third. Cazenovia responded to keep their significant lead, 9-2. The Lions then scored three unanswered goals, led by Andrew Coyle with two goals. When Cazenovia scored at the 3:12 mark, the Lions responded with two more goals by Nolan Frame and Andrew Coyle to get the Lions back in the game, 10-3.
The Lions dominated the fourth quarter to battle back and tie the score. The Lions Ryan Landels scored an unassisted goal at the 11:16 mark to make the Lions to within 2. With the Lions up a man, Christian Blair took a pass from Ryan Landels to beat the Cazenovia goalkeeper to get the Lions to within one. The Lions then got the goal to tie the score when Steve Petaccio took a pass from Travis McCurdy and beat the Cazenovia goalkeeper. The Lions overcame a seven goal deficit to take the game into overtime.
The Lions were able to cause a turnover early in the overtime and successfully cleared the zone to get a chance to win the game. The Lions then turned the ball over and Cazenovia cleared the zone, and was able to beat Lion's goalkeeper Robert Moran for the game winner. The Lions fell 11-10 to Cazenovia.
