Men's Lacrosse Falls in the NEAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Semifinals

Morrisville, NY. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team, the fourth seed in the NEAC playoffs, traveled to the top seed Morrisville State in the semifinals of the NEAC playoffs. Bryn Athyn fell to the top seed 14-8 in their first post-season appearance.

The Lions jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Nolan Frame scored in the first minute of play from the right side crease. Morrisville then added two goals to up 2-1 with 11 minutes left in the first quarter. Ryan Landels tied the game for the Lions at the 9:01 mark. Bryn Athyn and Mustangs exchanged goals to keep the scored tied at four with less than two minutes left in the quarter. Morrisville then scored the last two goals to close out the quarter and lead the Lions 6-4.

Bryn Athyn's Andrew Coyle scored the first goal of the second quarter, to get the Lions to within one, 6-5. Morrisville would respond to maintain a two-goal lead at 11:40. Christian Blair closed the gap to one with an unassisted goal at the 11:07 mark. Both teams were held scoreless for the next ten minutes until the Mustangs added two quick goals in the last two minutes to take a 9-6 lead into the half.

Morrisville took control of the game in third, outscoring the Lions 4-1 to hold a 13-7 lead at the end of three-quarter.

The Lions were only able to add a goal by Jess Frazier late in the fourth, as the Mustangs were able to keep Bryn Athyn off the scoreboard for the majority of the fourth. The Mustangs held on for a 14-8 victory over the Lions.

The Lions were led by Andrew Coyle and Jesse Frazier with two goals apiece. Bryn Athyn's goalkeeper Robert Moran made 17 saves on 31 shots.

Bryn Athyn close out the season with a record of 9-5 overall and 5-3 in the NEAC. The Lions made the first appearance in the postseason under first-year coach Tucker Durkin.
