Box Score

MEDIA, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team was swept by Penn State-Brandywine 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-11) in a non-conference match Monday night in the Brandywine Commons.

Hannah Dewees led the Lions with eight kills, while Amber Wood posted 10 assists and four digs.

Bryn Athyn used two Brandywine errors to take an early 2-1 lead in the opening set. The Nittany Lions (8-2) responded with a 16-5 run to open up a double-digit lead (17-7). Sparked by kills from Dewees and Clayshona Cogman, Bryn Athyn scored three of the next four points to pull within 18-10, the closest it would get during the rest of the set.

Like the first set, Brandywine committed two quick errors to put Bryn Athyn up 2-1. A run of 10 consecutive points allowed the Nittany Lions to take an 11-2 advantage. After Bryn Athyn recorded three straight points to close the margin to 11-5 on a Lydia Langlotz ace, Brandywine ended the set on a 14-2 surge.

Brandywine started the final set by scoring 13 of the first 15 points and never looked back.

Nikki Poissant had 18 kills, a .739 attack percentage, six digs, and three service aces.

Bryn Athyn (1-11) heads to Wilson for a North Eastern Athletic Conference match on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m.
