Women's volleyball tripped up in NEAC opener at College of St. Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play with a 3-0 loss (25-15, 25-16, 25-23) to the College of Saint Elizabeth in St. Joseph Hall.

Hannah Dewees (Bryn Athyn, Pa./ANC Girls School) led the Lions' offensive effort with a season-high eight kills—the third most in her career. She added one ace and three digs.

Alexis Juritsch (Schuylkill Valley, Pa./Blue Mountain) recorded 10 digs and four kills, while Clayshona Cogman (Chester, Pa./STEM Academy) posted a career-best 13 digs. Amber Wood (Warminster, Pa./William Tennett) added a career-high 11 assists, three service aces, and two digs.

Yasmin'Na Muhammad paced the College of St. Elizabeth (1-4, 1-0 NEAC) as she had eight kills. Maura Farley contributed 19 assists, six service aces, six digs, and five kills.

Bryn Athyn (0-3, 0-1 NEAC) travels to the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday, Sept. 12 for a non-conference tri-match against the host Patriots at 4 p.m. and Gwynedd Mercy at 6 p.m.
