Box Score

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to visiting Centenary (N.J.) in a battle of the top-four CSAC teams Wednesday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

Bryn Athyn is now 4-5-1 overall and dips to 2-2-0 in CSAC play, while Centenary goes to 7-6-0 overall and a perfect 5-0-0 against the conference.

Rose Glass and Ashley Rivera each had a shot on goal for the Lions. Bryn Athyn keeper Allie Warren tallied five saves.

Centenary's Amanda Benoit opened the scoring at the 19:49 mark with the nifty backheel of a Chloe Christopher centering pass that was delivered from the right corner of the field. Benoit made it 2-0 just under nine minutes later as she bent a shot from outside the penalty arc into the upper right corner of the net.

Christopher put herself in the goal column at 48:09 as she tracked down a long ball of the top of the Lion defense from Kara LaPolice and tapped in across goal and off the left post. At 60:32, Christopher struck again as she put home a LaPolice crossing pass that ricocheted off Warren.

Sandra Cosenzo closed out the scoring at 73:05.

Centenary's Justine Stefura made two saves in the Cyclone net.

Bryn Athyn is back in action on General Ronald K. Nelson Field on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. against Cairn University. Prior to the start of the match, the Lions will honor their four seniors.
