Titano's strike leads Lions to 1-0 victory at Clarks Summit

Box Score

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Tori Titano's second goal of the 2019 season, combined with a solid defensive performance, powered the Bryn Athyn College women's soccer team to its second Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win of the season—1-0 over Clarks Summit Saturday afternoon.

Titano scored the match's only goal at the 12:44 mark of the opening half. Rose Glass used a long throw-in to get the ball into the Defenders' penalty area. Titano spun away from her defender, tracked the ball down, got away from another defender, and then shot the ball into the lower left corner of the goal.

From there, the Bryn Athyn (3-4-1, 1-1-0 CSAC) defense took over, allowing Clarks Summit (3-6-0, 0-3-0 CSAC) four shot attempts. The Defenders only got one of those four attempts on target, which was stopped by Allie Warren just over three minutes into the second half.

The Lions did maintain offensive pressure after Titano's goal. Bryn Athyn had six of its shots stopped by keeper Lillian Kettlewell and two shots go ringing off the crossbar.

Bryn Athyn had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Lions go back on the road to take on Keystone in a CSAC clash on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m.
