Box Score GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team began the Jack Crawford era with a 19-0 non-conference loss to Gwynedd Mercy University in the Lions' 2020 season opener Tuesday afternoon.
Dan Condon won four faceoffs and scooped up three ground balls to lead the Lions (0-1). Matt Traber had a team-high three groundballs and caused a turnover. Justin Rallo contributed a ground ball, a caused turnover, and attempted a team-high three shots.
In his first collegiate start, Tristan Banks stopped a career-high 18 shots and added a ground ball.
For Gwynedd Mercy (3-1), 11 different players scored a goal. Derek Alcavage and John McCreary each racked up four goals and one assist. Nick Freda (two goals, one assist), Jacob Dzierzgowski (two goals, one assist), and Cameron Ostroff (one goal, two assists) all had three-point afternoons. Lucas Gray and Kohler Setley both scored once and tallied an assist.
The trio of Chase McFeeley (first and second quarters), Aubron Swartley (third quarter), and Dylan Kreitzer (fourth quarter) all split time in goal. Swartley made two saves.
Bryn Athyn plays its first home game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 29 against Albright on General Ronald K. Nelson Field at 7 p.m.
