Men's lacrosse stopped by visiting Gordon

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse was defeated by Gordon College, 13-5, in a non-conference home game Monday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

Mike Perkett led the Bryn Athyn (0-4) offense with a pair of goals and one assist, while Michael Flynn scored the first two goals of his collegiate career. Tim Ragan also scored for the Lions.

Dan Condon, Ryan Ovecka, Colin O'Hara, and Ragan all had four ground balls.

Wyatt King started the game in goal and made three saves in the opening 12:10. Tristan Banks closed out the final 48:50, making a career-high 16 stops.

The visiting Fighting Scots (2-3) opened the game by scoring four times in the opening 10 minutes, including two of Jason Dantona's game-high five goals, to take a 4-0 lead. Perkett pulled one back for the Lions, with an assist from Condon, during a man-up situation with 2:36 remaining in the quarter.

Gordon controlled the second quarter, outshooting Bryn Athyn 17-3, as the Fighting Scots ran off five consecutive goals to extend the gap to 9-1 at the half. Jacob Hryzan—who scored all three of his goals in the first half—netted two of the Fighting Scots' five second-quarter goals.

Bryn Athyn swung the momentum in its favor during a strong third quarter to get within 11-4. Perkett and Flynn each scored for the Lions in the first 4:10 of the quarter to cut the gap to 9-3. After Gordon got those two goals back to reclaim its eight-goal advantage, Flynn scored with 1:41 left in the quarter after receiving a Perkett pass.

Gordon took a game-high nine-goal lead on Dantona's final goal of the afternoon with 7:50 left to make the score 13-5. Ragan closed out the scoring at the 6:40 mark with an assist from Haas.

In addition to Dantona, Nate Distasio had a five-point game with two goals and three assists.

Bryn Athyn goes back on the road to take on Wesley on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
