Women's volleyball sets 2021 schedule

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College Women's Volleyball program announced its 2021 schedule on Wednesday morning. After a year off due to the pandemic, the Lions will return to competition and host ten matches at Asplundh Field House during the regular season. The Lions are coming off a 9-14 season which saw the team go 6-3 and make an appearance in the CSAC Tournament Semifinal. 

Bryn Athyn will open the 11th season in program history with a tri-match at Ursinus on Saturday September 4.  The team will take on host Ursinus at 10 a.m. and turn around play Penn State Brandywine at 12 p.m. The Lions will welcome Bryn Mawr for their first home game of the season on Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. Bryn Athyn will continue their home games with contests against Penn State Abington on Sept. 9 and Immaculate on Sept. 11. The Lions will travel to Penn State Berks on Sept. 13 for a nonconference game. The Lady Lions keeps the road swing going for a local tri-match at Arcadia University on Sept. 17. Bryn Athyn will first take on FDU-Florham at 5 p.m. before taking on the host, Arcadia, at 7 p.m. Bryn Athyn closes out their September road schedule with a match at Gwynedd Mercy on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. The Lions will finish the month of September with two home games on Sept. 23 and Sept. 28 against Marywood and Moravian.  

October starts CSAC play for Bryn Athyn. The first CSAC game will be against Keystone on Oct. 2 at home at 1 p.m. The Lions will travel to Cedar Crest on Oct. 6. Bryn Athyn will return home for consecutive home games against Wilson and Saint Elizabeth on Oct. 9 and Oct. 11. After a over a week off, Bryn Athyn gets back in action on the road against Notre Dame (Md.) on Oct. 19. The Lions will welcome Rosemont and Cairn to Asplundh Field House on Oct. 21 and Oct. 27 to close out home conference play. The regular season finishes out with a game at Clarks Summit on Oct. 30. 

Coach Dennis Hibbs said, "It's been a long year. I know everyone, myself included, is excited to get back in the gym and pick up where we left off. We have a good mix of leadership and newcomers with the roster, who I know are all itching to compete and bring their best. I can't wait to see what we can do this season."

The CSAC Playoffs are set to begin November 1, 2021.
