Men's soccer wins big at Gwynedd Mercy

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - The Lions offense exploded for seven goals on the road against Gwynedd Mercy to win 7-0 and secure consecutive wins for the first time since 2017.

How it Happened

  • Owen Ovecka got the game going with a goal 1:17 into the game.
  • The teams would settle in and play even soccer until Justin Delgado and Jacob Glenn would score two goals 15 seconds apart between 43rd and 44th minute.
  • Glenn would assist Delgado's goal before scoring his shortly after. 
  • The Lions took a 3-0 lead into halftime. 
  • Delgado would score his second goal of the day 13 minutes into the second half off a pass from Glenn again.
  • After a penalty kick was drawn by the Lions, Delgado would secure his hat trick and push the score to 5-0 at the 58:47 mark of the game.
  • Four minutes later, freshman Enrico Romano would get his third goal of the year off a cross from Brandon Cruz.
  • Cruz would wrap the scoring up and put a bow on the game in the 79th minute to give the Lions the 7-0 win.

  • Lions out shot the Griffins 25-15
  • Men's soccer won consecutive games for the first time since October 2017
  • The Lions improved to 2-2 on the year. 
  • Gwynedd Mercy dropped to 0-6
