Women's basketball falters in overtime

BRYN ATHYN, PA – The Bryn Athyn women's basketball team's four-game winning streak ended on Wednesday, January 26th, in a conference match against Keystone College.

Inside the Box Score:

· Freshman, Reilly Ward led the Lions by putting up 14 points. This is her second game in a row leading the team in scoring.

· Junior, Kaylia Duncan followed her in scoring with 12 points and contributed 9 rebounds.

· Junior, Terraé Lewis led the team in rebounds with 14 overall.

How it Happened:

· The Lions allowed Keystone to have the lead for the first couple minutes of the game. However, at 7:48 in the first quarter, they stole the lead, which ended the first quarter 16-15, Lions.

· In the second quarter, the Lions keep the lead the entire time, but both teams play pretty evenly to end the second 30-29.

· After halftime, both teams keep up the intensity, and the Lions come out on top with a 38-36 end to the third quarter.

· At 5:45 in the fourth quarter, we finally see Keystone tie up the game 41-41.

· However, Reilly Ward comes in clutch with two 3-point shots to put the Lions back up 47-43.

· At the end of the fourth, Keystone dialed in and ended regulation with a tie of 51-51.

· With both teams battling in overtime, the Lions let the win slip away, and Keystone out-scored them 11-9.

· Keystone would finish the game on top with a final score of 62-60.

Notes:

· The Lion's only shot 55.6% from the free-throw line, but it was better than Keystone, who shot 52.4% from the line.

· Lions managed to keep Keystone to 33.9% from the field.

· This game leaves the Lions with a 5-5 conference record and a 6-8 overall season record.

The Lions will travel to Wilson College on Saturday, January 29th at 1 pm in Nelson Gymnasium in Chambersburg, Pa.
