Women's basketball tripped up at Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn women's basketball team fell short in their match against Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, November 16th.  

Inside the Box Score 

  • Senior, Kearah Henry led the Lions in scoring with 12 points. She also managed to have 4 steals, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.  

  • Senior, Terrae Lewis joined in scoring double digits with 10 points. She also tagged on 4 rebounds and 2 steals.  

  • Sophomore, Norma Thornhill added 10 rebounds and 9 points.  

How it Happened  

  • The Lions started out the game strong by initially taking the lead. However, they lost it when the Chargers scored with 14 seconds left in the first quarter.  

  • The Chargers led 11-10 at the first break. 

  • Down by one point, Bryn Athyn fought back to gain a slight lead with 9:33 on the clock.  

  • Even though the Lions came out strong, the Chargers earned back the lead with 8:49 left in the second quarter.  

  • The Chargers led at half 28-22.  

  • In the third quarter, the Lions put up 12 points, but the Chargers managed to almost double that by scoring 21 points.  

  • This ended the third quarter with the Chargers up 49-34.  

  • The Lions continued to relentlessly fight back, but Lancaster Bible kept the lead until the end. Finishing the game with a final score of 65-53.  

Notes 

  • The Lions shot 72.7% from the free throw line. Capitalizing in the third and fourth quarters by going 8 for 10 and 7 for 8.  

  • Bryn Athyn's bench players made some noise by putting up 25 points all together.  

  • The Lions fell to 1-1 overall and the Chargers improved to 2-0.
