BRYN ATHYN, PA – The Lady Lions pick up a win on Monday, January 31st, in a conference match against Valley Forge with a final score of 46-31.
Inside the Box Score:
· Junior, Kaylia Duncan played strong and led the Lions to score 15 points.
· Freshman, Norma Thornhill also put up double digits by scoring 13 points. She also had 9 rebounds and 8 steals.
How it Happened:
· In the first 40 seconds of the game, Reilly Ward starts everything off by draining a three-point shot.
· With 4:10 left in the first quarter, Valley Forge steals the lead from the Lions to make it 8-5.
· However, the Lions persist and gain the lead back by the end of the quarter to finish the first 10-8.
· There was quite a bit of silence at the beginning of the second quarter, but with 5:58 left, the Lions kicked off the scoring.
· Bryn Athyn managed to secure the lead until Valley Forge came from behind and tied up the game with 1:10 left in the first half.
· After halftime, both teams came out hungry. However, the third quarter ended again in a tie of 27-27.
· In the fourth quarter, the Lions dialed in and outscored their opponent 19-4, ending the game with a final score of 46-31.
Notes:
· The Lions scored 32 points off of turnovers from Valley Forge.
· Lions shot 56.3% from the line compared to Valley Forge, who only shot 42.9%.
· With this win, Bryn Athyn improves to 7-9 overall and 6-6 in the conference.
