Women's lacrosse pushes Neumann on the road

ASTON, Pa. - Bryn Athyn women's lacrosse program pushed the host Neumann Knights in a non-conference contest before falling 15-12. 

Inside the box score How it happened
  • Neumann jumped out early and scored 4 unanswered goals before  Shea Gormley scored with 9 seconds left in the quarter to close the frame down 4-1.
  • The younger Gormley scored a second goal 5 minutes into the second quarter to cut the deficit to 4-2. 
  • The Knights would find the back of a net once again to stretch the lead to 5-2.
  • The Lions would close the the half with three goal run of their own to head into half tied 5-5.
  • Payton Gormley would give the Lions their first lead of the game at the 13:24 mark of the quarter, 6-5
  • The Knights would regain the lead with three goals in three minutes, but Gormley would not be denied scoring two more of her five goals to tie the game at 8. 
  • The two teams would continue to exchange goals before ending the quarter with the hosts up on the Lions 10-9.
  • Lee Antwi goal early in the fourth would tie the game at 11 and the Lions would get no closer before fallign 15-12

  • Lions would log three yellow cards in the game
  • Neumann won the draw control battle 18-13
  • Bryn Athyn led the way in shots 34-31
  • Lions fall to 0-2 on the year
