ROSEMONT, Pa. - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the 2022 All-CSAC Women's tennis team. The team, comprised of players from the seven CSAC institutions that sponsor women's tennis, was voted upon by the coaches in the league who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
The team includes first, second and honorable mention All-CSAC, Player, and Rookie of the Year, as well as Coach of the Year and the 3-D Award. Also, players were nominated for the All-Sportsmanship team by their respective coaches.
The 3-D Award was given to Bryn Athyn College. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This is the first time that Bryn Athyn has won the award in women's tennis.
Rookie of the Year went to Bryn Athyn College freshman Anais Connelly (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Academy of the New Church). A second-team All-CSAC selection, she went 5-4 overall and 4-1 in CSAC play, sporting a 3-1 record at number three flight.
In addition to Anais Connelly, freshman Thea Keal was named second-team All-CSAC in Singles and Doubles along side her partner Connelly. Keal also received the All-Sportsmanship award for Bryn Athyn as well.
The Lions will travel to Cedar Crest tomorrow for their playoff match at 4:30 PM.
