Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lions finish off 2023 with Coaches' Tournament

ASHBURN, Va. - The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team competed against North Carolina Wesleyan University on Saturday, falling 84-65.

Inside the Box Score
  • Jalen Parker led the way with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
  • Will Little impressed in his return to the starting lineup, amassing 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
  • Jalen Jackson added 12 points, 2 assists and 3 steals.
How it Happened
  • Bryn Athyn hung around for the majority of the first half, even tying the game at two separate points.
  • However, ball security was hard to come by for the rest of the game, as a few costly turnovers put North Carolina Wesleyan up big for good.
  • Lions lit up the scoreboard late in the period, but the Battling Bishops kept pace to go into halftime up 38-28.
  • NCWU would go on to win by 19.
Coach's Corner
  • "It's really hard to win a game where you give up 15 offensive rebounds for 18 points and 17 points off turnovers. We weren't at our best this weekend and need to be better as we head into conference play the rest of the way. Credit to JP who was named All-Tournament Team." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund.
Notes
  • Battling Bishops out-rebounded Lions 43-26 and outscored them 46-30 in the paint.
  • Bryn Athyn made only seven 3s.
Up Next
  • Bryn Athyn is back at the Field House on Wednesday, January 3rd to face Rosemont at 8:00pm.
