Women's Basketball closes out regular season with win at Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team added a nice finishing touch to their 2022-23 regular season, defeating Wilson 73-62.

  • Senior, Kearah Henry had 20 points and 4 assists.
  • Sophomore, Norma Thornhill nearly grabbed a triple-double, going for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.
  • Senior, Kaylia Duncan contributed 12 points and 6 rebounds. 
How It Happened
  • Bryn Athyn started the day off strong, building a 16-10 lead midway through the first quarter. 
  • However, the offense grew stale in the back end of the quarter, allowing Wilson to close the gap to 18-16 through one period. 
  • The second quarter saw a similar script, with the Lions building a lead early, getting up by as much as 8, only for the Phoenix to close the gap by 3. 
  • The Lions went into halftime up 35-32.
  • The Lions were much less fortunate in the third, as they mustered just seven points. The Phoenix scored 15 and finished the quarter up 47-44. 
  • Early returns in the fourth were not promising either. Neither team could pull ahead early, and Wilson went up 57-55 with 4:23 to go.
  • The Lions came alive late, finishing the game on a 16-5 run. They would go on to win 73-62.
