Men's Lacrosse comeback vs. Cairn cut short

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team had a comeback cut short in a crucial conference match vs. Cairn, losing 7-4 due to lightning.

  • Jamal White was responsible for 4 of Bryn Athyn's 5 goals (3 goals, 1 assist). 
  • Joe Nugent chipped in the other goal. 

How it happened
  • Nugent got the Lions going immediately, notching his goal a minute and 12 seconds into the game. 
  • White put them up 2-0 late in the period with his first score. 
  • Cairn answered before the end of the 1st with a goal to make it 2-1 Bryn Athyn.
  • The teams spent most of the 2nd in a stalemate, only for the Highlanders to tie the game at 2 with 5:48 to go. 
  • White answered two minutes later with his second goal of the afternoon, putting the Lions up 3-2 at half. 
  • Seven scoreless minutes were played to open the 3rd. 
  • Then, White notched his third and final goal to put Bryn Athyn up 4-2. 
  • Cairn responded with two goals in 10 seconds of game time to turn the tides and tie the game. 
  • The rest of the period was devoid of points. 
  • Cairn scored three unanswered goals in the 4th.
  • After over an hour of lightning delays, the game was officially decided, with the Highlanders winning 7-4.
