Men's Basketball secures huge road win at Keystone

LA PLUME, Pa. - The men's basketball team clutched out another big win on Tuesday night, defeating Keystone 72-63.

Inside the Box Score
  • Will Little was a problem in the paint, going 5-8 inside the arc and 7-10 from the foul line en route to 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
  • Isaac Marshall couldn't be taken off the floor, putting in 9 points (4-6 FG) and 6 rebounds in 20 excellent bench minutes.
  • Jalen Jackson had a well-rounded impact with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.
  • Keith Bullock was efficient in his 18 minutes, finishing with 11 points.
How it Happened
  • Bryn Athyn went down in an early 12-4 hole, struggling to rebound and protect the ball, forcing a quick timeout.
  • An 8-2 run out of the timeout was encouraging, but short lived, as Keystone went on a 13-4 stretch buoyed completely by one player.
  • The end of the half was when the gears really started to turn for the Lions. Little got big, scoring three points at the foul line, and the team corralled 7 rebounds to Keystone's 1, resulting in a 15-2 run to close the period (4:28).
  • This breakout continued out of halftime, as the Lions opened the second period on a 12-2 run to go up 43-31.
  • Keystone got some help from its secondary scorers, getting within four midway through the second, but ultimately lacked the scoring punch to keep up with Bryn Athyn.
  • Lions 72, Giants 63.
Coach's Corner
  • "This was a total team win. I'm proud of guys stepping up. I thought Zeek Marshall, Trell Horsey, and Keith Bullock changed the game for us defensively. Road wins are hard to come by in conference play and this was a quality win to get sole possession of first place." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund
Notes
  • In an eight-minute stretch to close the first half and open the second, Bryn Athyn outscored Keystone 27-4.
  • Bryn Athyn is now 5-1 in the United East and atop the Skye Division by itself.
Up Next
  • The Lions are back at the Asplundh Field House on Thursday, January 11th at 8:00pm.
