Last second bucket lifts Men's Basketball over PSU Berks

Jakir Hampton scores last minute to solidify the win.

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Lions came out winners of a dogfight with a game winning pull up by Jakir Hampton on Wednesday, defeating the Penn State Berks 71-70.

  • Will Little flirted with a double-double leading the way with 18 points and 8 rebounds. 
  • Jakir Hampton shot an efficient 66% from the field on his way to 14 points to go along with 5 rebounds. 
  • Maseo Carson contributed a solid 10 points on the evening. 
  • Malik Carson added nabbed 7 rebounds to go with his 6 points.
How it Happened
  • The Lions came out to prove a point opening up the game with a 12-5 run. 
  • After a quick timeout, Penn State re-calibrated and went on a 8-0 run to take the lead with twelve minutes to go in the first. 
  • Bryn Athyn would respond through defensive stops and in the paint scores.
  • Heading into half time; the visiting lions were down 35-29.
  • Penn State cut the lead to 1 within the first minute of the second half giving them confidence throughout the half.
  • Both teams continued to force turnovers and trade buckets for majority of the half. 
  • After 10 minutes the game was tied 53-53.
  • Penn State would command the lead with a go fast break dunk. 
  • With 9 seconds left; PSU knocked down a contested three to take a 1 point lead.
  • Hampton proceeds to go the length of the court to convert a pull up jump shot to seal the win for Bryn Athyn, 71-70.

  • "It's hard to win a college basketball game and even harder to win a conference game. We didn't have our best stuff last night but we got the win which is critical.
