BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The women's lacrosse team hosted Gwynedd Mercy for its home opener on Wednesday, pummeling the Griffins 16-4.

• Shea Gormley had a gaudy stat line, totaling 7 goals, 1 assist, 7 ground balls and 6 draw controls. 
• Maria Storck followed her up with 4 goals, 3 assists and 5 ground balls.

  • Gormley got te Lions going right away, scoring in the first minute of play.

  • Griffins then countered to make it 2-1, and locked the Lions up for the next seven minutes. 
  • The defensive spell was soon broken by Storck, who put in another one to put Bryn Athyn up two.

  • This is where BAC took control, scoring four goals in four minutes. 
  • GMU mustered a goal late in the period, but Scarpiello shot down any momentum the Griffins were getting from that. 
  • Lions went into halftime up 9-2.

  • Gormley got on the board twice in the opening five minutes of the frame, quelling any chance of a comeback from Gwynedd.
