Hampton nets 1000th career point

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's basketball team got yet another close victory, defeating Penn State Harrisburg 75-71.

  • Jakir Hampton was unstoppable today on his way to 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. 
  • Will Little added 13 points and 6 rebounds.  
  • Isaac Marshall contributed 12 points on the evening.
  • Jalen Parker through foul trouble added 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in limited minutes. 
How it Happened
  • Bryn Athyn came on out on the attack with a 9-2 run to open the game. 
  • Halfway through the first half; the home team held at 18-14 lead.
  • With six minutes remaining; Harrisburg had everything tied up at 21.
  • First half concluded with Penn State Harrisburg leading 31-30. 
  • Bryn Athyn started the second half the same way they started the game roaring into a 20-6 run forcing Harrisburg into a timeout. 
  • After a few missed shots by Bryn Athyn; Harrisburg was able to cut the lead to 2 with eight minutes remaining in the half.
  • The game continued to fluctuate between 1 and 2 possession game as both teams refused to lose.
  • In the end; Bryn Athyn was able to hold onto the lead and win 75-71.

We need to continue to improve our rebounding and free throw shooting, but our guys showed great defensive hands and were committed to our game plan.   • Senior Jakir Hampton accomplished a career milestone surpassing 1000 points as a collegiate basketball player, which makes him the sixth player in program history to do so.
  • Bryn Athyn is now 6-1 in United East Conference play.
