Men's Basketball makes it five in a row with win over St. Mary's College

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's basketball team canceled some dreams on Martin Luther King day as they defeated visiting St. Mary's College of Maryland on Monday 74-65.

How it Happened
  • Bryn Athyn controlled the early part of the game, opening with an 10-4 run fueled by strong defense and tough shot making. 
  • Things got dicey the rest of the half as the Lions laid of the gas a bit.
  • In the last five minutes of the half, St.Mary's dug into the lead through made shots and sound defense.
  • St.Mary's took the lead with two minutes left in the half. 
  • Bryn Athyn led 35-27 at the break after going on a 9-0 run.
  • The Lions came with their foot still on the gas as they opened the lead up to 12 within the first six minutes of the 2nd half.
  • St.Mary's continued to chip away and was able to get the lead down to as low as 4.
  • Lions did not look back for the rest of the game, winning by nine, 74-65.

  • Bryn Athyn improved to 10-8 on the season and moved to 8-1 in conference play
  • With the win, Bryn Athyn has secured their best start in conference play in program history
