Women's Lacrosse Falls in Double OT to Bryn Mawr

Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team fell in double overtime to Bryn Mawr, 9-8 in Thursday non-conference action. 

Katilyn Brock and Savanna Smith led the Lions with three goals each. McKenna Acton put in two goals. 

The Owls scored in the first 30 seconds off the draw control to take a quick goal.  The Lions tied the game at 24:37, after the Owls had a failed clear and turnover. Smith scored to tie the game at 1-1.  Bryn Athyn won the draw control and Brock scored 10 seconds later to take their first lead of the game.  Smith scored at 19:29 to add to the lead off a good Lion clear at 19:29. Bryn Mawr chipped away at the Lion's lead, of a free position shot at 17:57.  The Lions get tagged with a foul at 10:06, the Owl capitalized and scored at 9:51 to tie the game at 3-3.  Bryn Athyn would score two goals to finish the first half with a two-goal lead.

Bryn Mawr started the second half scoring two goals to tie the game at 5-5 at 19:46. 

Acton scored on the free position shot at 15:02 to retake the lead, of an Owl's foul.  Bryn Mawr tied the game at 6-6 of a free position shot to tie the game at 6-6 and take the game into overtime. 

In OT, Brock scored at 1:24 to take the lead. But the Owls responded with two goals in the first overtime to retake the lead 8-7.  In the second overtime, Bryn Mawr scored at 2:44 to add to their lead. Smith scored with 56 seconds left in the game, but wasn't enough. 

Anja Weisser made three saves in net.
