Lions fall to Keuka 10-6

Bryn Athyn Pa - The women's lacrosse team hosted Keuka on Saturday afternoon. The Lions fell to Wolfpack 10-6 in NEAC action.

The Wolfpack jumped out to a fast start scoring two goals in the first three minutes of the half. The Lions responded when Michelle Bedford scored a on a free position shot to cut the lead to one, 2-1. Keuka added another goal a the 15 minute mark. The Lion's Sabrina Colbridge got the Lions back to within one with an unassisted goal to make the score 3-2 with 11 minutes left. Keuka extended their lead a few minutes later to go up by two. The half ended with the Wolfpack leading 4-2.

In the second the Lions just could not cut into the Wolfpack lead. The Lions were outscored 5-2 in the first 20 minutes of the half. With the score 9-4 and five minutes left on the clock, Laura Clymer cut the lead with a free position shot. Keuka again responded with a goal of their own a minute later. Emma Gross added another goal for the Lions with 2:24 left, but that was as close as the Lions would get to the Wolfpack. The Wolfpack held off the Lions to to go on to win 10-6.

The Lions were led by Michelle Bedford with two goals and two groundballs. The Lions goalkeeper Anja Weisser made 9 saves on 19 shots.

The Lions move to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the NEAC. The Lions are right back in action on Sunday April 24th at 2:00 pm as they host Wells in their final home game of the year.
