Women's lacrosse edged out by Keystone in low-scoring CSAC affair, 4-3

Box Score

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Bri Lennox recorded two goals and one assist for the Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team in a 4-3 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to visiting Keystone Wednesday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

Lennox gave Bryn Athyn (2-2, 1-1 CSAC) a 1-0 advantage just 2:32 into the contest as she bulldozed her way around the Keystone crease and tucked a shot by Daphne Leenas.

Tina Tu doubled the gap to two at 23:56 with her third goal of the season. Lennox started the sequence from behind the Keystone cage with a pass out in front. Tu leaped to retrieve the pass and as she was landing, flung the ball into the goal.

After Nisa Cortes cut the Bryn Athyn lead in half with Keystone's first goal with 7:53 left in the half, Lennox would quickly restore the two-goal cushion when she scored her team-leading 17th goal of the season just 16 seconds after Cortes' goal.

Keystone (3-3, 2-0 CSAC) struck twice in the final 2:01 thanks to goals from April Llewellyn and Alex Smith to send the teams to the break tied at three.

Bryn Athyn dominated the run of play in the second half, outshooting Keystone 16-3 and forcing 21 turnovers. However, it would be the Giants' Savanna Robinson scoring the half's only goal with 11:13 left in the game on the man advantage.

The Lions caused a season-high 21 turnovers, led by four each from Sarah Reed and Shauna Breen.

Bryn Athyn goalie Sarah Smith had three saves and two ground balls. Leenas finished with 12 stops, 10 in the second half, and three ground balls.

The Lions head to Rosemont for a CSAC contest on Saturday, March 30 at Rosemont at noon.
