Bryn Athyn College is proud to announce their application for American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II membership has been approved for the 2021-2022 season.  Bryn Athyn will join other notable Philadelphia area ACHA Division II teams such as Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, West Chester University and Princeton University.  The upcoming weeks, the program will be in applying for membership with ACHA D2 conferences.

President Blair shared, "Our acceptance into the ACHA celebrates Bryn Athyn's rich ice hockey tradition, adds new facets to the atmosphere of exciting intercollegiate competition, and provides student-athletes with a new opportunities to achieve their best selves through sportsmanship and community involvement."

The ACHA was established on April 20, 1991, as a non-varsity option for college students to be able to play hockey at the collegiate level.  The Charter Members had existed prior as club programs, but by starting this association it allowed for standardization of procedures as well as to raise the level of play and organization of the club hockey at the college level.  During the last three decades the ACHA has seen explosive growth, going to over 450 teams, spread across three men's divisions and two women's divisions.

Dr. Suzanne Nelson said, "We are thrilled to have been accepted into ACHA D2. What a wonderful opportunity for our student athletes. The primary mission of the ACHA is to support the growth of Collegiate Hockey while emphasizing academic performance, personal development and opportunities for regional, national and international competition."
